If you happen to skip meals or eating less in the morning to bank calories for the big meal to be served for dinner, you are only considering your calories but depriving the nutrition you need for the day such as protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, essential fats, and other nutrients from healthy food.

Eating less early triggers the anticipation for overeating later that tends to increase your appetite. This causes you to eat much more than you thought on dinner time.
It is recommended to eat much more in the morning because it fills you up. The tendency would be eating less in the evening. Healthy fats and especially lean protein and high fiber foods decreases you appetite.

Why would you starve yourself in an attempt to burn more fat, then eating more later that tends to bring the fat right back on?

Starving and bingeing pattern will certainly cause you a problem or bigger damage than a rare huge meal. Some dieticians say that this may lead to disordered meal.

The best thing to do is to stay on your regular set of healthy foods and small or less meals through the entire day. You can go ahead on a cheat meal to treat yourself but be sure to keep small portions.
